“India won’t travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup; instead, all of their matches will get played in the island nation,” according to a report from news agency PTI.
Dhumal refuted news reports that India would travel to a neighboring country, contrary to what particular people heard from Pakistan’s sports minister Ehsan Mazari. “Such an argument wasn’t held. In contrast to rumors having surfaced, neither India nor our secretary will be visiting Pakistan. They only finalized the schedule,” he claimed.

The Indian team will play Pakistan in Sri Lanka
Arun Dhumal, the present president of the Indian Premier League, has reportedly put an end to rumors and confirmed that the team will play Pakistan in Sri Lanka despite controversy surrounding the Asia Cup schedule.
After meeting with Zaka Ashraf, the representative head of the Pakistan Cricket Board, BCCI secretary Jay Shah made the decision. Dhumal claims that Pakistan will host four games, with Sri Lanka hosting the remaining nine.
According to the report, India will likely play Pakistan in Sri Lanka’s Dambulla like the 2010 edition. The only home game for Pakistan will be against the underdog Nepal. The remaining matches are Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka, Afghanistan vs. Bangladesh, and Afghanistan vs. Sri Lanka.

“Our secretary met with PCB chief Zaka Ashraf, and they finalized the Asia Cup schedule, which is proceeding as planned. In Pakistan, there will be four league games. Then, there will be nine games in Sri Lanka, including an India-Pakistan game and possibly a third if both teams advance to the final,” Dhumal told PTI.
In 2016, Bangladesh hosted the sub continental Asia Cup. UAE hosted 2018 and 2022 editions of Asia Cup.
