# The Dutch spin-pace duo of Aryan Dutt and Ryan Klein opened the bowling. They bowled three consecutive maiden overs, but Young and Conway quickly broke the chain to put New Zealand back on track.

# He continued to score off the Netherlands bowlers while playing with the in-form Ravindra, but he later skied a shorter ball from Paul van Meekeren straight to De Leede at mid-on. Following his quick century against the defending champions England, Ravindra scored steadily for fifty runs before falling to captain Scott Edwards as he pushed Van der Merwe off his legs.

# After Mitchell and captain Latham got out, the scoring slowed until Santner hit an unbeaten 36 off 17 deliveries, which helped New Zealand score 50 runs in the final three overs.
