Hardik and Dravid get face the heat by Prasad in a “painful” rant

India suffered a crushing defeat in their first-ever bilateral T20I series match against the West Indies. Former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad criticized skipper Hardik Pandya and head coach Rahul Dravid for their “ordinary” white-ball performance and bad series-long strategic decisions. Prasad emphasized the team’s performance in the ODI series and its defeat against Bangladesh in the 50-over format last year. He believes the Indian white-ball team lacks the “passion and carvings” for victories.

“India lost to a team…”: Prasad calls Hardik and Dravid “clueless” in a “painful” rant

The present Indian white-ball squad, which developed for the Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup, in Venkatesh Prasad’s opinion, is missing the “passion and hunger” for triumphs.

WI defeated India in the T20I series

The Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida, dealt Team India a crushing defeat on Sunday. All of the talks about the team being on the verge of an incredible and historic comeback T20I series victory over the West Indies collapsed when the hosts won convincingly by eight wickets to win their first-ever bilateral match against the Men in Blue.

Suryakumar Yadav, who batted first in the fifth and final T20I of the series, fought alone against the Windies attack, scoring 61 off 45 balls to help India reach 165 for nine. The outstanding 107-run stand between Brandon King and Nicholas Pooran end to the pursuit before Shai Hope added the finishing touches. With two overs remaining, West Indies eventually completed the 166-run chase.

Venkatesh Prasad bashed the Indian skipper and head coach

Former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad attacked skipper Hardik Pandya and head coach Rahul Dravid after the shocking loss for their “ordinary” white-ball performance and bad series-long strategic decisions.

Following the series loss, Venkatesh emphasized the team’s performance in the ODI series as well as its defeat against Bangladesh in the 50-over format last year when he reaffirmed his “very ordinary limited-overs side” comment he had made after India fell behind West Indies 0-2 in the series.

Venkatesh Prasad’s Tweet

“India has long been a very typical restricted-overs team. A West Indies team that missed qualifying for the T20 World Cup a few months ago stunned them. Ban prevailed over us in the ODI series as well. I hope they reflect instead of saying foolish things,” he tweeted.

“West Indies didn’t just lose in 50 overs; they also missed the T20 World Cup in October and November last year. It hurts to see India perform badly and have its shortcomings swept under the rug in the name of the procedure. We are living in a fantasy, and the hunger and fire are missing,” he continued.

Lacks the “fire and carvings” for victories

The former India bowling coach admitted that the way the team management handled the circumstances discomfort him more than the defeats themselves. He believes the current Indian white-ball team, which prepared for the Asia Cup and then the ODI World Cup, lacks the “fire and hunger” for victories.

Before the team comes together for a camp at the NCA for the Asia Cup later this month, India will play Ireland in a three-match T20I series under the leadership of Jasprit Bumrah without players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Hardik.
