Match 67 was played between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings. CSK won the toss and chose to bat first. Team got a great start with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway scoring runs all over the ground.
In the first 10 overs, CSK didn’t lose any wicket and Ruturaj Gaikwad scored his half century in 37 balls. From the other side, Devon Conway scored his half century in 14th over. Finally in 15th over, Gaikwad got caught out after smashing 79 runs in 50 balls. By now CSK score was 141/1. Shivam Dube came first down and immediately started hitting the big shots. He scored a quick 22 runs in just 9 balls before he got caught out.
Devon Conway also got dismissed after playing a great innings of 87 runs in 51 balls. In the final over Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja added 16 runs and took CSK score to 223 runs in 20 overs.
In response, Prithvi Shaw and David Warner came to bat for DC. CSK dismissed Shaw on just 5 runs. Soon after, DC lost Salt as well as Rile Rossouw on two consecutive balls in Deepak Chahar’s over. Warner was holding the DC ship from one side. He scored another half century in 31 balls.
But the team kept on losing wicket from the other side. In the 19th over, great innings of veteran batter David Warner came to an end, he scored 86 runs in 57 balls. The game was pretty much over for DC at this moment as they needed 80 runs in 10 balls. In the final over DC lost two more wickets and their innings ended at 146 runs.
CSK won the match by 77 runs and fixed their place in playoffs.
