Fast X breaks 100 crore mark at the Indian Box Office

Fast X is having a great run in India. It has become the first Hollywood film in 2023 to break the 100-crore mark at the Indian box office. This movie got released on May 19. Universal Pictures confirmed that during its 11-day run, the 10th installment of the globally known franchise has collected Rs 105 crore.

Movie sits just behind The Super Mario Bros. and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with a collection of Rs 4,266 crore to secure third position as the biggest studio release of the year.

Outside US and Canada regions, the movie has made about Rs 3,327 crore which includes the collection done in India as well. While in the North American region, movie has made Rs 939 crore.

Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ that has made about Rs 1,537 crore at the global box office is right now the main competition for Fast X. Although as per the reports, the musical fantasy film has not don exceptionally well at box office from an opening weekend standpoint. Those records are still held by The Lion King and Beauty and The Beast.

Despite the mixed reviews, Fast X seems to be doing well – movie even managed to surpass the opening weekend projections. This installment is a story of another family vengeance with a mammoth star cast including – Dom (Vin Diesel), Dante Reyes (Jason Mamoa) who is the new antagonist planning to break down Toretto family. Jakob Toretto(John Cena), Deckard Shaw(Jason Statham), Han Leu (Sung Kang) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). New additions to the team are Brie Larson and Daniela Melchior.

Diesel confirmed in CinemaCon event that there will be a Fast X: Part 2, which will release somewhere in 2025.
