The Modi administration does not respect the Supreme Court: Kejriwal

Following their meeting with Thackeray, Kejriwal asserted that the ordinance shows that the Narendra Modi administration does not respect the Supreme Court.

Additionally, he claimed that the ED and CBI were being used to overthrow state governments.

The AAP government criticized an ordinance brought by the center

When the Centre implemented a bill last Friday to create a body to oversee the movement and posting of Group-A authorities in Delhi, the AAP government criticized the action as a deception in context with the Supreme Court’s ruling on service control.

What is the ordinance?

The ordinance, which was passed a week after the Supreme Court granted the elected government in Delhi control over all services except for police, public order, and land, aims to establish a National Capital Civil Service Authority for the transfer of Group-A officers from the DANICS cadre and the initiation of disciplinary actions against them.

Thackeray backed Kejriwal

In support of Kejriwal, Thackeray argued that the Supreme Court’s ruling was crucial for democracy.

“We have gathered to combat those who are opposed to democracy. There won’t be any democracy in the nation if we miss the train this time. We’ve banded collectively to safeguard our nation and its constitution,” Thackeray declared.

Centre is trying to “take away the rights” of the Delhi citizens: AAP

The national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) charged that the Rajya Sabha “should not” allow the ordinance to pass because the Centre was “taking away the rights” of the residents of Delhi.

This comes after the Center Government implemented a bill on May 19 that outlined policies for the GNCTD’s “transferring posting, surveillance, and other related matters.”

The Supreme Court’s ruling in the Centre v. Delhi case is disregarded by the ordinance, which was introduced to alter the Administration of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991.
