Director S Shankar’s Indian 2, a follow-up to his 1996 film Indian, has garnered attention for its upcoming debut. The film will get subsidized by Subaskaran Allirajah and Udhayanidhi Stalin under Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies.

Vikram not only energized theatres and gave moviegoers an extravagant cinematic experience, but he also renewed Kamal’s fans, heightening their anticipation for the forthcoming debut of director S Shankar’s eagerly anticipated project Indian 2, a follow-up to the director’s vigilante action movie from 1996 called Indian, which won Kamal his fourth National Film Award.

On Tuesday, in honor of Independence Day, director Shankar displayed another poster from the film in which Kamal appears in a completely different avatar. The new photograph shows Senapathy, aka Indian (Kamal), dressed in khaki, leaning against a platform while standing near it. He appears wearing a tricolor badge proudly on his chest, and the background gets decorated with a group of tricolored balloons.

After watching a few scenes from Indian 2 in June, Kamal gave Shankar a pricey watch as a token of his appreciation. “I recently watched a few significant Indian two scenes. All the best to Shankar. It shouldn’t be your peak, in my opinion. It is the pinnacle of your professional career. Don’t consider it your best work; be proud and strive to reach higher goals. (sic)” wrote Kamal on Twitter.
In addition to Kamal Haasan, Indian two features Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Gulshan Grover, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Kalidas Jayaram in significant roles. It will get subsidized by Subaskaran Allirajah and Udhayanidhi Stalin under the respective banners of Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies.
