Manish Sisodia, formerly Mr. Kejriwal’s deputy and the person in charge of excise, was detained in connection with this case last month.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government today convened a special session of the Delhi assembly, which Mr. Kejriwal said will cover additional topics. “The CBI questioned him about everything from the beginning of the liquor policy’s implementation in 2020 to its conclusion,” he claimed.

This case involving the liquor policy is fabricated and false. Our guiding philosophy is sincerity. Although we are ready to die, we won’t give up our integrity. All of this is being done to discredit us and our admirable development work. They are taking these actions to destroy us because we have evolved into a national party,” Mr. Kejriwal stated to the media.

According to sources quoted by news agency ANI, the AAP called an urgent gathering of its top officials this evening while Mr. Kejriwal was being interrogated by the CBI due to worries that he might be detained.

The Delhi Police detained AAP leaders Raghav Chadha and Sanjay Singh after they staged a protest close to the CBI’s office. The moment Mr. Kejriwal left, they were set free.

“BJP experiences Kejriwal anxiety. The BJP has resorted to such an action as a result of Kejriwal’s fear. It’s a weak thing to do,” Mr. Chadha claimed.

The now-arrested leader allegedly gave the draught liquor policy to Mr. Sisodia’s then-secretary in March 2021 at Mr. Kejriwal’s house, according to the CBI.

As the statement was made in front of a magistrate, C Arvind, a bureaucrat, it can be used as proof in court. The meeting is said to have taken place at Mr. Kejriwal’s house, so the CBI requested his statement regarding it.

Following an investigation that was commissioned by the then-Lt. Governor Anil Baijal, the Delhi government cleared the excise strategy. After being postponed twice, it was finally cleared. The CBI is trying to figure out why.

In July 2022, less than a year after it had been implemented, the Delhi government abandoned the new liquor policy and reinstated the old one.
