“Ultimately, the TRUTH always deserves to win!” the actor published on his Instagram Stories. Along with the hashtag “God is Great,” he also included emojis of folded hands and a red heart. Acquitting the actor, Judge AS Sayyed of the special CBI court in Mumbai said on Friday that there wasn’t enough evidence to convict Sooraj. “This court cannot find you (Sooraj Pancholi) guilty due to a lack of evidence; therefore, you are acquitted,” he said.
Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, who both work as actors, are the parents of Sooraj. He had Zarina with him when he appeared in court on Friday, and as they left, the two were surrounded by reporters. They are assisted in making room to get into their car by a police officer.
Jiah Khan’s case
Jiah Khan was only 25 when she was discovered dead in her Mumbai home on June 3, 2013. On June 10, 2013, the Mumbai Police detained the actor following the discovery of a letter that Jiah had allegedly written in which she claimed that Sooraj had mistreated her physically and mentally. In July 2013, bail was granted to Sooraj.
A key witness for the prosecution in the case, Jiah’s mother, Rabia Khan, testified in court that she suspected it was murder rather than suicide. “The verdict is on an alleged suicide, but I’ve always insisted Jiah was killed,” she said.
Jiah’s mother, Rabia Khan, declared that she would keep battling for her child. After the decision, she stated, “The charge of aiding suicide has been dropped. My child died, but how? This is a murder case, and we’re going to the high court,” she said.
