Warner Bros. Discovery announced on Wednesday that Harry Potter television series is in pipeline and set to be made. JK Rowling to executive produce the series.

The TV series will be based on mega selling Harry Potter books written by JK Rowling and published between 1997 and 2007.
According to statement given by newly branded Max “this will become a decade long series produced with same epic craft, love and care this global franchise is known for.”

There have been speculation around TV series since 2021. This announcement confirms that work is in progress to create an episode based show around Hogwarts world. There have been mixed reactions from fans of Potter universe.

Rowling said in a statement: “Max’s commitment to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me, and I’m looking forward to being part of this new adaptation which will allow for a degree of depth and detail only afforded by a long form television series.”

Rowling’s views on transgender rights recently created controversy and turned away many ‘Harry Potter’ fans. The author was also missing from the 20th anniversary reunion special.
