Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s statement

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, a Congress member for the Lok Sabha, stated on Saturday that the Supreme Court’s decision to stay Gandhi’s conviction by a Surat court proved formally delivered to the secretariat. On a motion from the Congress leader disputing the Gujarat high court order, the top court released notices to the Gujarat authority and the petitioner in July.

However, if the secretariat decides to consult the law ministry, as it did in the case of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Md Faizal earlier this year, the reinstatement may take a while to complete.
