Ashok Gehlot: “The BJP is a party of lies, and Congress will soon rule Karnataka”

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru ahead of the state assembly elections, Gehlot took a shot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that in 2014, the PM leveled several accusations against the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, including those involving the 2G spectrum or the coal gate scandal, to damage the reputation of the then-ruling administration.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is a party of lies

Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, claimed on Monday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is a party of deceit. He claimed that they (BJP leaders) make false promises to gain power but never keep those promises and that the BJP misleads people in the name of religion.

Gehlot speaking to the media

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru ahead of the state assembly elections, Gehlot took a shot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that in 2014, the PM leveled several accusations against the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, including those involving the 2G spectrum or the coal gate scandal, to damage the reputation of the then-ruling administration.

According to Gehlot, the BJP has also pledged 20 million jobs and Rs. 15 lahks in bank accounts, but these pledges have since fallen through.

Gehlot predicted that the Congress would win the Karnataka state election and that the BJP would lose. He declared that a victory for the Congress in Karnataka would be beneficial for the nation.

Gehlot described the central government as favoring the BJP’s governing states

According to him, it is now necessary to improve state governance. “Rajasthan received 76,000 crore less in state dues over the course of the previous five years. This kind of bias is unacceptable. We’ll make sure people are aware of these problems.”

Gehlit criticized the model of governance of the BJP

He proceeded: “Their (the BJP’s) model of governance is to overthrow elected governments, whether they be in Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Manipur, or even Rajasthan, but despite numerous attempts, they have failed. To overthrow Rajasthan’s Congress government, they lost the money they had invested.”

Gehlot praised the programs implemented in Rajasthan:

Chiranjeevi scheme
Gehlot added that the Congress administration has consistently kept its commitments. “We keep our promises, and as a result, Rajasthan has developed into a model state where every family is covered by the Chiranjeevi scheme’s 25 lakh health insurance.”

Gehlot praised the programs implemented in Rajasthan and urged the prime minister to implement social security rights similarly to how the UPA government implemented RTI, RTE, MNREGA, and other programs.

Old Pension Scheme (OPS) Scheme
To understand how the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) was being implemented in the state, he claimed that even the Karnataka government dispatched a team to Rajasthan.

Distribution of cooking gas cylinders for 500 rupees
Gehlot provided more details on government initiatives in Rajasthan, mentioning the establishment of camps to combat inflation and the distribution of cooking gas cylinders for 500 rupees to each household. He stated, “76 lakh households in Rajasthan are receiving the cylinder for 500.”

Annapurna ration kit
As part of the Annapurna ration kit, he added, 10 kg of rice was being given away for free to families in Rajasthan. The chief minister of Rajasthan also discussed the urban employment guarantee program, under which the state government would annually give the underprivileged access to 125 days of employment.

In Gehlot’s opinion, voters should consider a government that offers free healthcare, free education, and free food when casting their ballots rather than one that charges a 40% commission.
