Manish Sisodia’s Judicial Custody Extended Till 5th April


Problems for former Deputy CM of Delhi are not stopping, today Rose Avenue Court in Delhi ordered to keep him in judicial custody till 5th April in the excise policy case.

Enforcement Directorate brought Sisodia to court as his remand ended today, their the court ordered for his judicial custody till 5th April 2023. On the other hand Sisodia is also under the CBI radar in the same excise policy case. He was arrested by CBI for the alleged fraud in the same case.

A Delhi court, on Tuesday (March 21), sought the ED’s response on Sisodia’s bail plea in the money laundering case. Special Judge MK Nagpal issued notice to the ED and sought its response by March 25, reported PTI.

On March 17 court extended Sisodia’s remand till 22nd March that ended today. The court has again asked for EDs response on Sisodia’s bail plea by 25th March.

Sisodia was first arrested by CBI and he was then taken into custody by ED from Tihar jail on March 9, he was first arrested by CBI on 26th Feb in this case.

The former deputy cm of Delhi was holding education and finance portfolios in addition to various other departments before resigning from his post after his arrest.

On the other hand Aam Admi Party National Convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is brandishing this as an act of vendetta politics by BJP and Narendra Modi, Kejriwal stated that this case against Sisodia is baseless and is an act to sabotage the work focused AAP whose only fault is to provide high quality education in public schools across Delhi.
