Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot Launches “Labharti Utsav”


Labharthi Utsav’ will be held in all 33 districts of Rajasthan

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is launching “Labharti Utsav” across 33 districts in the state to mark the benefits given to the state public under Indira Gas Cylinder Yojana as well as other welfare schemes like Chiranjivi Health Insurance Scheme, RGHS, Old Pension Scheme etc.

This is being seen as the Gehlot government’s push for mass reach months before the largest state (by geography) goes into elections.

‘Labharthi Utsav’ will be introduced by CM Ashok Gehlot today

To buck the trend of guard changes every five years, Rajasthan’s chief minister, Ashok Gehlot, held a “Labharthi Utsav” (beneficiary festival) on Thursday. Its is important to note here that Rajasthan is due to hold elections later this year.

On Monday 5th June 2023, a state-level event will be held at the Rajasthan Information Centre, during which the chief minister will electronically transfer Rs 60 crore in subsidies to the bank accounts of 14 lakh recipients.

As part of the Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will on Monday inaugurate the “Labharthi Utsav” in each of the 33 districts.

There will be screenings of videos related to the Mehangai Rahat Camps and the Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme.
At the event, films based on the Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme and Mehangai Rahat Camps will be screened. In total, 22 lakh customers made refill reservations in April of this year. For the 14 lakh consumers who enrolled themselves at the Mehangai Rahat camps, Gehlot will be transferring the advantages to their accounts. With the Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme, the state government will supply gas cylinders for Rs 500 to 76 lakh customers.

BPL households with gas connections are also qualified for this program, along with the Ujjwala Scheme’s chosen households. Beginning on April 1, 2023, the state has been operating under this plan. The benefit of this program is currently offered to those who register at the Mehangai Rahat camps. Approximately 48.63 lakh households have signed up for the program so far.

District vise recipients

During the Labharthi Utsav, the funds will be sent to the bank accounts of 80,100 recipients in Jaipur, 67,362 recipients in Barmer, 59,514 recipients in Alwar, 58,515 recipients in Bharatpur, 56,618 recipients in Churu,54,694 recipients in Ajmer, 54,626 recipients in Bikaner, 52,064 beneficiaries in Bhilwara, 41,532 recipients in Dausa, 41,445 recipients in Chittorgarh, 39,115 recipients in Jhalawar, 38,115 recipients in Jalore, 36,979 in Hanumangarh, 29,246 recipients in Baran, 26,613 recipients in Bundi, 25,918 recipients in Dholpur, 25,615 beneficiaries in Banswara, 19,718 in Dungarpur, and 17,584 recipients in Jaisalmer.

Comparably, the funds will be given to recipients in 51,553 in Udaipur district, 65,767 in Jodhpur,47,181 in Jhunjhunu district, 26,499 in Sawai Madhopur, 27,509 in Kota, 27,873 in Rajsamand, 61,153 in Sikar, 45,200 in Sriganganagar, 38,950 in Tonk, 28,460 in Karauli, 15,005 in Pratapgarh, 18,817 in Sirohi, 70,517 in Nagaur, and 40,731 in Pali.

According to sources in the Congress party, the action was motivated by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) outreach initiatives to recipients of central government schemes.

At the end of this year, Rajasthan will hold the assembly elections.
